NOTES FOR THE MEETING ON 11th May
BECKY E-Mail client
At the meeting on 4th May, many people expressed interest in the E-mail software I use for my personal computers, called Becky. We therefore agreed to devote part of the "surgery" on May 11th to looking at Becky, how to set it up and how to use it.
Becky is the work of just one man - a Japanese who, for Western customers, gives himself the nickname of Carty. He is one of literally thousands of computer programmers making an independent living from twriting and selling their own software. Such software ranges from the abysmal to the brilliant. In my opinion, Becky is very much towards the brilliant end of the scale. However, any software, no matter how good, that has been written by a single person is bound to reflect the personality of its writer, and their idiosyncrasies.
If you want to download your own copy of Becky, you can do so from the Rimarts home page here
Carty himself is something of a recluse, and leaves publicity and support to James W Moore, whose website is here
I will be showing you all how to set it up and use it, but if you are too impatient and want a sneak preview, It's here
There is also a mailing list for Becky. To join, send an e-mail with the word SUBSCRIBE as the subject to beckyusers@morelerbe.com
