After discussing any "matters arising", the main subject of the session will be the examination of computer hardware, how it all comes together, and what it looks like.  I will have an old Compaq system box dismembered for you to have a look at.  After tea, we will take our first very basic look at using a computer, concentrating on the mouse.

It seems that I will need to start using Moira Stewart's book sooner than anticipated.  To this end, I urge you all to buy a copy as soon as you can.
